Malcolm Calcutt has been treating me for over 20 years. His massage skills and customised exercise regimes have enabled me to manage my manual handling job and overcome injuries.
Delighted with the results:
I was referred to Malcolm at the Massage And Injury Clinic some 16 years ago, and have been delighted with the results. I used to live with back pain much of the time. Malcolm is able to determine and treat muscular stress, tension and trauma with good results. I’ve received helpful advice on posture, physical motor mechanics and stretches to help maintain healthy muscles and good posture, which have made a difference. When I injured myself, like I did 4 years ago with an L3/4 bulging disk, Malcolm’s treatment was a vital ingredient to my recovery.
I needed more that just a spinal adjustment and an electrical impulse machine which reduces inflammation, though they were and are still a necessary and important part of my ongoing treatment, along with a good stretching programed, exercise; diet and adequate water intake, all combining to help create a healthier lifestyle, but only if I’m diligent enough to do the right thing daily, which sadly, I’m not, but I do try. I’m enjoying life a little more these days, because I’m not being worn down by constant back pain and muscle fatigue.
Though I do have my bad times, as I forget that I shouldn’t lift heavy things, especially when I’m fatigued. I know what it’s like to work with unbearable pain. I’m a laborer who works 12-hour days, both day and night shifts, and have done so for 30 years. Thankfully, the past 15 years have been easier than the 15 years before that.
If you’re suffering from back or muscle pain or your muscle and skeletal system is not performing the way you think it should? You need someone who is able to determine what is happening with your muscle groups and who is able to work on those muscles to bring relief and help restore vitality.
However, be aware, that to get the best results, especially if you are carrying an injury, you may need a more holistic approach which may not be limited to just deep tissue remedial therapy.
I’m grateful for the help and positive results achieved through the treatment provided by Malcolm at The Massage And Injury Management Clinic and highly recommend Malcolm as the best Deep Tissue Remedial Masseur I have ever uncounted, that’s why I stopped looking and have stuck with Malcolm these past 16 years.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage, as its name says, focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It is designed to reach the deep sections of thick muscles, specifically to individual muscle fibres that have tightened due to postural torsion or injury.
Using deep muscle compression and friction along the grain of the muscle. Deep transverse friction is an excellent tool for a local area of tension or trauma. When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue.
Small Group Training
Small group training gets better results
Not all group training is created equal. Almost all gyms offer your standard group exercise classes. If you’ve been following our Facebook page, you’ll know our thoughts about that. (Spoiler alert: it’s not going to get you results.) However, our previous post was all about our need to incorporate a social element into workouts. That’s why we offer personalised small group training.
Personalised small group training gets results up to four times as fast as regular group training
Here’s why…
In a larger group training session, it can be easy to hide in the back. The instructor can’t keep track of everyone’s performance and effort. You certainly won’t be getting individual attention and instruction. Ironically, you can remain anonymous quite easily in the context of regular group training. And that won’t meet your fitness needs. It also won’t meet your fundamental needs as a social being.
Human beings are social creatures. Two of our top ten needs include being emotionally connected to others, and feeling part of a wider community. Those needs will not be met in a large class. They will, however, be met in the context of personalised small group training.
Working with a personal trainer and a couple of other women will ensure that you are involved. You are constantly interacting with other people. And not just any people, but people who share similar fitness goals as you. It’s a source of encouragement, support, and motivation. In this way, your personal trainer will not only ensure that you make progress towards your fitness goals with personalised workouts. She will also ensure that you are integrated into the small group to ensure that your social and emotional needs are met too.
There are many reasons why personalised small group training is the way to go. This is just one perspective that highlights the benefits of this approach to exercise and fitness.

Period Pain
Love your Guts, Marty Ryan’s way of teaching Visce
ral Manipulation (Great for period pain). I was able to study with him in Melbourne some years back (1996) and have been applying his techniques to help people where I can. There are three people trained for visceral manipulation at the clinic. They are Manuella Madosa, Gavin Clark and Malcolm Calcutt.
Great for period pain, once a month for 8 months can have an impact between 40-60%, in pain reduction.
So ladies if you have tried all other options we have the one for you. The ovaries and uterus are located in the lower part of your abdominal cavity with the ovaries descending into the pelvic bowl. The Uterus is to the right hand side, just in from the hip bone. This gives it some protection from knocks.
This is a non invasive treatment, using myofascial release (Direct technique) adapted to the organs. We work through a sheet, between the pubic bone (from the top part) and to the bottom of the rib cage. We will help to get movement happening again in this region. If you are seated for a lot of the day, you are compressing your organs constantly. Conversely if you slouch/compress forward then you are also doing this. Posture is important for our health and reduction in pain. When slouching our internal organs fight for a slice of limited space, our Heart, Liver, Lungs stomach, intestines and reproductive organs are then in a fight for that space. By being more upright we can have easier breathing which will give us understanding that more space is there so all organs have been decompressed.
In conclusion if you have bad pain that limits your quality of life and may put you into bed for a day or two! Can you afford not to come in and try this great technique to help with your period pain. A small cost of both time and money to become a happier you.
