About Us
The team at Massage and Injury Management Clinic is led by Malcolm Calcutt, an experienced practitioner with more than 30 years in the industry. Malcolm now has an Advanced Diploma of Soft Tissue Therapy, but the real evidence of his expertise can be seen within his achievements.
Over a period spaning about a decade, Malcolm was the massage therapist of choice for Athletics Australia. In that time he travelled with Australian teams to 3 World Championships, 3 Commonwealth games and the Sydney Olympics. On an ongoing basis, Malcolm has also worked with high profile sporting teams including Claremont Football club, Perth Glory (Soccer), Western Warriors (Cricket), Stadium Triathlon Club and a number of travelling international teams.
Working with athletes is more demanding both physically and mentally, so the learning is greater. The athletes only care for results so as long as you are positive to their performance, they become guinea pigs for techniques. This is then bought back into the clinic to help every client in a safe, tried and tested way.

What I love about massage
Helping people to reach their full potential by managing their injuries and efficiently using their bodies. Giving simple and effective ways to incorporate change into their lives using existing patterns with a little change (exercise and posture), so they are easier to do. Knowing that teaching people and using massage techniques can make a difference in all aspects of people’s lives. To empower people. If I can help you to help yourself, I have been rewarded in helping a human being!
I now have a video section to reaffirm any exercises and posture that is advised by me to my clients. This is to give you a resource to come back when you feel the need to ensure you are doing the exercises well.
With well over a dozen qualifications between them, Armando Chiera, Gavin Clark, Jayne Middleton, Martine Visser, Manuella Madosa, Epril Nossent and Justin Kiely really do make this a complete team with a wide range of skills.
Their expertise, passion for massage and commitment to delivering the highest level of service possible has helped the clinic become what is today which is arguably the Western Australian industry leader, if not the country.

What I love about massage
Having been actively involved in sports and seen the amount of injury it can cause, I just wanted to able to help people speed up the recover process. I love using massage as an alternative or additional technique to recover from injury or just pain. I find it amazing how many opportunities there are with massage and the healing power it has not only physically but also psychologically for a person.
I have always had an interest of helping help. Having played football for serval years and knowing how many injuries a person becomes prone to, I developed an interested in how to prevent these from happening and how a person would improve their performance. After completing my diploma in Remedial Massage, I received that opportunity. I am currently studying exercise and rehabilitation which will help me understand the body better and finding more efficient ways of helping people. As new and different challenges are seen since every person is different, but this is what makes my job interesting and it keeps me on my toes. I am excited to learn new techniques and develop my skills.
I want to empower people about the advantages of massage and how amazing the body is at healing itself if it is given the time and attention. My passion for massage comes with my interest of how the body functions, I want to deliver the highest level for my clients and help them increase their quality of life.

What I love about massage
A very good friend of mine and my most regular client, a doctor, working in ER at the time, once said to me: “We can diagnose well, and when surgery or antibiotics are needed we help people, but for everything else you can do so much more…” It was a statement that stayed with me since. I always loved massages and I always knew I can improve quality of life but it wasn’t till years after I started practicing it, that I realised how much of an impact a massage can actually have. It’s not just the techniques (that we constantly improve through education and practical experience) but the very basic – touch. We, as humans, respond to touch, it is in our instincts, it is a primary response, a way of communication. And the way our bodies unwind and all the tensions melt away just by the contact of my hands and the tissue I’m working on, amazes me every time.
Human body is a perfect machine that has the ability to grow, develop and repair itself; our brain is a universe and there is so much to explore and to learn… It is far beyond a job for me, it is passion.

What I love about massage
The people I get to work with every day and the clients I have the privilege of helping. Knowing that you were able to help that person, even if it is temporary, experience relief from an injury or discomfort, the look of utter bliss someone can have after an effective treatment. Besides the people, it is the knowledge that I have gained. I find the human body fascinating and to have gained a deeper understanding of the systems in the human body and how they all interact is just amazing.
To have the opportunity to share that knowledge with a client really make me happy. Each type of massage offers distinct healing properties and connects with spiritual principles that go far beyond muscle tension alone.

What I love about massage
I love the interaction with different types of people and the problem-solving aspects in dealing with musculoskeletal issues. I had my first massage nearly 30 years ago due to my own injuries, saw immediate results, became totally hooked, kept learning and eventually began to help others. I think it’s obvious that to be an effective massage practitioner you need “good hands”, but I’ve learnt it’s so much more! To really help people a good practitioner also needs a structured approach: first to listen intently, then to think, then to apply relevant therapy to the best of their ability, and then to reassess. I do that for every client, every session!

What I love about massage
I’ve always been fascinated by our bodies’ anatomy and physiology, and after having my babies and digging deep into natural health, I decided to ditch my engineering profession and started following my passion, which leads me to study Remedial Massage.
I’m glad when I have the opportunity to share the knowledge I gained with my clients and I feel very honoured when my clients trust me with their aches and pains, stresses and stories, and allow me to be a part of their healing process. It really is something special to witness the transformations that can occur on the treatment table, when a person finds their ease, physically, mentally and emotionally.
