What should I do during a massage session?

Make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax. Others like to talk during their session. Feel free to ask the practitioner questions about massage and bodywork in general or about the particular technique you are receiving.

Will it hurt?

We will not ask you to tolerate any discomfort other than that necessary for effective assessment and treatment. Deep tissue for many, sadly, means bruising painful massage, often leaving the person distressed with another layer of pain. You should always feel comfortable about the work you receive - it is afterall your body - your health that is being tended to.

Health fund rebates?

Most health funds offer a rebate for the massage services provided at our Clinic. The exception is HBF who will not recognise massage done by massage therapists. We have provider numbers for all the other funds that do offer their members massage by qualified massage therapists. Do your health a favour and choose a fund that serves your needs and one that fully supports natural preventative healthcare options.
